The last time I cried...

Let me preface this post by telling you that I am not a very emotional person. I do not cry easily and as an actress is probably something I should work on, haha.
But that being said, the last time I cried was last night. My dad took me and OJWalker to see a Theater Works production of Little Women in Palo Alto (first row suckasss). And during the second act I bawled like a baby.

When I was little I adored the Little Women movie. The one with Winona Ryder and Kristen Dunst and Claire Danes and whoever plays Meg. So I knew the plot. And the whole Beth dying thing. My favorite song is 'Some Things are Meant to be', and my voice teacher and I once sang it together and it is such a tender song, haha. And when this productions' Jo and Beth (Emily Koch and Julia Belanoff, BTW) sang it, it was sweet and pretty and nice. But then when Beth sang the last verses (at 3:12 in the video), I totally and completely lost it. It was SO EMOTIONAL AND TENDER AND FLAWLESS. And the crying continued. And escalated through Marmee's (Elizabeth Ward Land) singing of 'Days Of Plenty'.
And now, Things To Learn from Little Women, by Claire Dunn
1. When one door closes, another (better door) opens
My heart always break when Laurie proposes to Jo, because they seem like such a perfect couple, and literally everyone in the theater is shipping them (Jaurie, yo'). But Laurie ends up with Amy and they are actually meant to be together and perfect.
2. Be yourself
Sure, Jo totally could've changed her un-ladylike ways to go to Europe and have worldly experiences with Aunt March, but she would've had to sacrifice her uniqueness and Jo-ness. So she did make the right decision of sticking true to herself/ her beliefs. I mean who wants to wear a corset anyways?

And there are SO many more things, but I have brain block and can't think of anymore. Just know that the show was so awesome I sobbed and you should go see the closing performances today at two or eight.
